If you’re reading this then you’re probably wanting some background on who’s writing the contents.

So.

My name is Kieran Ots. I work for Leo Burnett in Sydney, where I’m the Digital Creative Director. Which is a round about way of saying that my day-to-day work involves collaborating with a talented bunch of people, across a range of disciplines, to find creative solutions for business problems.

I’ve been doing this kind of thing for around 12 years.

This blog is largely as a reflection of the mixed bag of things that capture my attention from day to day. I suffer from an excessive interest in everything, so contents will range from ideas to design, to marketing, to social media, to advertising, to random internet stuff, technology and music. At the pointy end, creativity and marketing is where everything meshes with my day-to-day work, so expect a bit of that here.

But at the core of all these interests is a fascination with people, and what makes us tick, as individuals and as a group.

Oh. I also hate rules that stop people from asking questions.

One last thing – I also believe that creativity breeds creativity. In other words, the more stuff you do, the more ideas you have. So I have another side project called the 52nd Floor, which is an extended (slightly insane) creative writing exercise. Posts aren’t as regular there as they should be, but feel free to drop me a line and let me know what you think.
